LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, TENNESSEE REVENUE REGISTRATION AND REPORTING SYSTEM DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY

This position is designed as Hybrid (In office 2 days and 3 days Remote)

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional work experience in tax administration and/or business analysis may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.

Overview

Under immediate supervision, performs business development support work of routine difficulty within the Tennessee Revenue Registration and Reporting System (TR3); and performs related work as required. This is the entry level classification in the TR3 Business Consultant series. An employee in this classification learns to become the point of contact for various business divisions, vendors, and state IT resources. An employee in this classification is responsible for learning to assist with the definition of business objectives, testing solutions, and verifying that the solutions adequately meet the business objectives. This classification differs from the TR3 Business Consultant Adv in that an employee of the latter performs more complex business development support work.

Responsibilities

1. Learns to act as a liaison between business vendors and state IT resources.
2. Learns to maintain industry knowledge of business objectives and requirements.
3. Learns to assist with the identification of subject matter experts for more complex topics such as: penalty, interest, and staging of cases.
4. Learns to analyze, with assistance from others, various approaches to meeting business requirements.
5. Learns to test functions within TR3 and identify additional appropriate testing resources based on business knowledge when needed.
6. Learns to assist with test scenario development, test scenario writing, and test execution to ensure performance and accuracy.
7. Learns to assist with desk-side support for the Department and stakeholders when TR3 is updated and/or changed.
