Summary
Plan and implement therapeutic recreation services for residents and patients while meeting all regulatory standards. Will evaluate therapeutic treatment plans; developing treatment options; developing, conducting, and evaluating in-service education programs; directing staff.

Essential Functions
- Team members are hired, mentored, and continually developed to achieve stated goals for performance and complete annual reviews in a timely manner.

-Independent and group activities for residents and patients are developed and implemented to meet their needs and interests.

-Activities programs are implemented in adherence with established procedures.

-Activities are adjusted to meet a resident or patient's physical, developmental, physiological, emotional and spiritual responses

-Residents/patients are transported to and from activities per established standards.

-Resident/patient care is documented and communicated per department guidelines.

-Assist in development of budget for Recreation and Wellness programs

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Activities Assistant or demonstrated evidence of specialized training in developing and conducting social or recreational programs. 3-5 years required Experience in management and leadership 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise fitness activities, monitor behavior, oversee activities, and perform in-services as needed.
- Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel and the general public.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
