The End-User Computing (EUC) Architect is responsible for defining the enterprise strategy, architecture, and technology roadmap for end-user computing environments across the organization. This specialist role provides deep expertise in collaboration platforms, endpoint management, and enterprise productivity tools, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs. Unlike operational roles, the EUC Architect focuses on design, governance, and strategic decision-making, shaping how end-user technologies are deployed, configured, and supported across the enterprise.

This role is an individual contributor and an on-site, hands-on business and IT liaison who will work from our IT Center in Muscatine, IA or Chicago IT office four days a week (M-Th) and Fridays virtually. This role will require occasional travel (Approx. 10%)

The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned technologist with deep subject matter expertise in end-user computing, collaboration, and device management systems. They have the vision and flexibility to design, integrate, and support multiple implementations of end-user technologies into a unified, seamless enterprise environment. This individual combines strategic architecture skills with practical understanding, promoting innovation and best practices while incorporating feedback from operational leaders in End-User Operations. Candidates should bring extensive experience in enterprise-scale implementations and migrations, with special consideration given to those who have led or supported post-merger and acquisition technology integrations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Roadmap Development

  • Define the enterprise roadmap for end-user computing technologies, including collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint), endpoint management, and workplace services.
  • Partner with IT leadership to align EUC strategy with broader digital workplace, cloud, and security initiatives.
  • Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to guide future EUC investments.
  • Establish architectural principles, reference models, and design standards for end-user computing solutions.

Enterprise Architecture & Design

  • Design end-user computing environments that balance usability, performance, cost-effectiveness, and security.
  • Provide architectural oversight for endpoint management, including Intune, SCCM, and device lifecycle management.
  • Lead the design of collaboration platforms, ensuring consistency, governance, and optimal configuration across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related Microsoft 365 services.
  • Define integration strategies for EUC with enterprise systems, identity management, and security platforms.
  • Develop standards for enterprise device images, configurations, and deployment practices.

Technology Selection & Implementation Guidance

  • Evaluate tools and technologies related to EUC, including ServiceNow, field services support models, and NOC monitoring platforms.
  • Provide input into vendor selection, licensing models, and managed service partnerships.
  • Support project teams during design and implementation phases, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert during major EUC upgrades, migrations, and transformation programs.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Define governance models for collaboration tools, device management, and service delivery.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure EUC designs meet regulatory and security requirements.
  • Create policies and standards for device access, patching, data protection, and end-user experience monitoring.
  • Provide architectural input into incident response and disaster recovery planning for EUC environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand end-user needs and translate them into architectural requirements.
  • Work closely with IT operations teams (ServiceNow, field services, NOC) to ensure that day-to-day services are delivered according to design.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, roadmaps, and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT with 5+ years specializing in end-user computing, collaboration platforms, or workplace technologies.
  • Multiple Implementations or Migrations of end-user systems or tools.
  • Candidates who have participated in post-merger/acquisition IT integrations will be given special consideration.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook) and enterprise administration practices.
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, and related deployment/configuration technologies.
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale architectures for end-user devices, mobility, and collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ServiceNow preferred) and monitoring/operations environments (NOC).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in IT Management, Enterprise Architecture, or related discipline.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or TOGAF.
  • Experience working in large, distributed enterprise environments with managed services providers.
  • Exposure to security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
