Pay Range

$55,584 - $97,200 Annually

This is the lowest to highest salary range in good faith we believe would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.


Job Description

We have an opening foran Administrator to support multiples areas of the Security Organization in support of business operations and activities strategically supporting workforce goals and coordinating hiring activities.In addition to being well-organized and methodical, your strong organizational and communications skills will be needed to interact with a variety of personnel. This position is in the Security Organization.

  • Assess business, operational and/or organizational requirements and deliverables and apply general knowledge of policies, procedures, methods, and practices, propose improvements, and implement approved actions.
  • Assist in the development of and capture new and improved business and administrative practices.
  • Assess, interpret, identify solutions, and ensure resolution of tasks and inquiries using knowledge of the area supported; determine and execute appropriate administrative processes.
  • Represent organizational administration and coordination of hiring, on-boarding, and off-boarding internal and external hires, scholars, and supplemental labor workforce personnel.
  • Coordinate job postings, distribute resumes, schedule interviews, provide information to job applicants, prepare hire packages, verify security clearances, coordinate internal transfers and on-boarding/off-boarding actions and processes.
  • Ensure adherence with organizational, institutional, and U.S. Department of Energy document management and retention records requirements. Assist in the development and ongoing adherence of organizational methods and practices.
  • Serve as a resource through sharing skills and knowledge with others; may provide training and mentoring to others as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Experience researching, interpreting, and applying relevant policies and procedures, coordinating and prioritizing business and operational activities and assisting in the development of administrative and operational practices.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of recruitment support processes, facilitating the coordination of hire packages, and of basic Human Resources principles and compliance requirements related to personnel administration (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive business relationships, and handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact, discretion, and mature judgment; ability to effectively deal with difficult situations and personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal guidance, and to work well within an administrative and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience working under limited supervision to prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines, while demonstrating flexibility, attention to detail, discretion, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of automated business tools/technologies/ techniques and specialized applications. Knowledgeable of various computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Webex, Adobe Acrobat).

Qualifications We Desire

  • Working knowledge of LLNS's policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of LLN's hiring processes and procedures.
  • Experience working with Smart Recruiter, LAPIS, and other LLNL administrative software and platforms.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.

Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
