| Job Description PORTCO, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation located in Suffolk, Virginia. Founded in 1991, PORTCO serves as an Employment Service Organization dedicated to providing transitional, supported employment, and vocational services to individuals with disabilities who may struggle to find and maintain competitive employment independently. This position is responsible for ensuring that janitorial and cleaning duties assigned to the team are completed in accordance with established contracts. The role involves coordinating information regarding inspections, equipment maintenance, documentation, and training. This is a working supervisor position, requiring active participation in janitorial duties as needed. Key Responsibilities - Oversee in-house services, including cleaning, maintenance, and repair, as well as other assigned tasks. - Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and established standards. - Instruct and train employees on work policies, procedures, equipment usage, maintenance, health, and safety protocols, as well as other relevant training. - Assist in preparing employee work schedules and inventory supplies to ensure adequate availability of equipment and materials. - Prepare activity and personnel reports while maintaining required records of work hours, payroll, work performed, time studies, and other pertinent information. - Participate in staff training and development activities, attending all mandatory meetings. - Perform and assist with cleaning duties as necessary. - Oversee and assist with the vocational needs of employees with varying disabilities. Planning/Organizing- Prioritizes and plans work activities efficiently and manages time effectively. Safety and Security- Actively promotes and personally adheres to safety and security procedures while using equipment and materials properly. Requirements Any combination of training, experience, or education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position is acceptable. A minimum of two years of experience in commercial janitorial services with increasing responsibility is preferred.
