Position Overview

The Defense Systems Technical Site Director will lead IS4S's New England operations, providing both strategic leadership and technical direction to advance the company's defense systems portfolio.

This senior leader will be responsible for cultivating a high-performance culture, managing strategic relationships, and ensuring excellence in contract execution and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership presence, technical credibility, and a "hands-on/roll-ur-sleeves-up" business acumen, ability to guiding multidisciplinary teams, direct engagement and follow-up with senior DoD stakeholders, and an IS4S growth focus in JADC2, C5ISR, and C3BM initiatives.

Key Leadership and Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a growing team of engineers and program managers to deliver on mission-critical DoD programs.
  • Establish strategic direction for the New England site setting priorities, building partnerships, and aligning efforts with corporate objectives.
  • Serve as the senior IS4S representative to Hanscom AFB, AFLCMC, and other regional partners, ensuring IS4S is recognized as a trusted technical and leadership resource.
  • Provide executive-level oversight for project planning, design, execution, and transition to operations from concept to IOC.
  • Shape and drive business development strategies, identifying new opportunities, leading proposal efforts, and managing customer relationships.
  • Champion innovation and technical rigor, promoting best practices in systems engineering, data analytics, and experimentation.
  • Ensure program excellence in cost, schedule, and performance holding teams accountable and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and accountability, coordinating across IS4S locations to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Represent IS4S with authority and professionalism at national DoD and Air Force forums, technical exchanges, and industry events.



Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline (graduate degree strongly preferred).
  • 10+ years of combined U.S. Government and defense industry experience, including leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in building technical organizations or program offices supporting the DoD or Air Force.
  • Strong familiarity with Hanscom AFB, AFLCMC, and DoD acquisition processes.
  • Proven ability to drive results with minimal direction, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Knowledge in JADC2, C5ISR, and C3BM systems and architectures.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills - capable of influence across organizational levels.
  • Record of thought leadership or recognized contributions in defense community (e.g., publications, panels, or conferences).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and program management tools.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
  • Former U.S. Air Force officer with acquisition or program management experience.
  • Familiarity with PEO structures, AF enterprise architectures, and capability development processes.
  • Experience working with government, industry, and FFRDC partners.
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions under pressure and achieve closure on complex issues.
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and capable of managing cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
