Sales Support Specialist

Location:

A Sales Support Specialist provides essential daily customer support to the outside sales team within the industrial, medical, and specialty gas markets. This position will act as the liaison between customer master data, operations,
distribution and other internal departments as necessary. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to submit quotes, track orders and deliveries, enter and update contracted pricing, create sales/usage reports, and provide timely research and resolution to customer inquiries. This position will support numerous account managers within a designated sales area contributing to the overall sales success and customer satisfaction.

* Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
* Manages calls for incoming orders, email orders or inquiries from primarily internal and possibly external customers in a professional manner.
* Has daily communication with the sales team regarding quotes, order status, deliveries, back orders and/or any pending order issues.
* Creates quotes in SAP for the sales team. Follow up on quotes, order status and deliveries.
* Maintains customer files. This may include preparing customer credits and supporting credit & collections efforts.
* Communicate with retail branch personnel to stock appropriate product levels as requested by the sales team.
* Submits contract pricing updates as needed following the proper chain of command/process.
* Assists accounts receivable with invoice questions, researches and gathers supporting documentation and submits corrections as requested.
* May be requested by sales leadership to gather information for special projects relating to pricing, inventory, or sales to align the needs of the customer.
* Participates in product knowledge and vendor training to increase knowledge and awareness of our market segments.
* Pull ad hoc reports from systems that may include Salesforce, Excel, Power BI, Pros, Google Sheets and Business Warehouse depending on needs of support area.
* All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent of three years' work-related experience or equivalent combination of both. College Degree is preferred in business or marketing.

* SAP or similar software system experience.

* Customer service oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary

* Needs to be able to interact in a professional manner within all levels of a diverse organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Intermediate skills operating a computer in both Windows and Google based environment is recommended.
* Knowledge of welding, industrial gases and safety equipment applications is a plus
* Knowledge of Salesforce (or other Customer Relationship Management solution) at an administrative entry level is desired
