With our team, you will help manage and protect wildlife and their habitats while promoting hunting and trapping for current and future generations by planning, developing, and overseeing wildlife habitat management projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Wildlife Habitat Group Manager, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing habitat projects, game lands maintenance, infrastructure construction and maintenance, equipment acquisition, and related projects and programs. You will have the opportunity to complete a wide variety of duties such as establishing workload priorities, investigating work-related accidents or incidents, preparing and submitting grant applications for supplemental funding for projects, and administering the budget for the group. Work also includes initiating and recommending the acquisition of new game lands or additions to existing game lands. This involves researching property owners and deeds as well as contacting landowners for potential acquisition of properties and negotiating conditions.

Excellent leadership skills are vital as your work will also involve performing a full range of supervisory functions. This includes completing performance reviews, conducting interviews and candidate selection, and tending to leave requests, disciplinary actions, and more. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, home headquartered, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is home headquartered. You must live within Lehigh and Bucks counties.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional natural resource management experience; and a bachelor's degree in natural resource management, parks and recreation, biology, forestry, ecology, geosciences, environmental sciences, wildlife management, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active motor vehicle operator's license.
  • You must obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator certification within the employee probationary period.
  • You must successfully complete Wildland Type 2 Firefighter (FFT2) training, including successfully completing a Moderate (or Arduous) level Work Capacity Test (WCT) within the employee probationary period.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
