The Senior Analyst, Tax Reporting & Core Banking Technology will serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise tax compliance and core banking systems. This role provides oversight and operational support for tax reporting functions, ensuring alignment with IRS regulations and internal policies. The analyst will collaborate across business units and technology teams to drive process improvements, support system functionality, and lead initiatives related to tax workflows and customer data integrity.

Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Provide oversight to the tax reporting core banking functions for the bank. Oversee tax reporting functions within core banking systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as subject matter expert in enterprise tax compliance; must keep up to date on all IRS regulations Serve as the enterprise expert on IRS regulations and tax compliance, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant changes.
  • Ensure all business partners are engaged with Core Banking Technology for their tax reporting requirements Partner with business units to ensure tax reporting requirements are integrated with Core Banking Technology.
  • Act as change agents for Mass Exchange and core banking control requests, ensuring compliance with the bank's policies and procedures while staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the core banking domain.
  • Provide business support for FIS core banking applications, submit tickets on behalf of business for questions related to FIS banking applications and work with business users on capabilities and functionality available in FIS core banking applications.
  • Facilitate regular sessions with all business units to establish a much-needed overall and individual tax workflow.
  • Lead and administrate an effort to clean up customer profile data (IRS TIN Notices, undeliverable customer forms, etc.)
  • Ongoing review of processes to increase operational efficiencies by eliminating redundancy and incorporating automation where possible.
  • Actively take lead on all Current State and Future State Operating initiatives and/or the addition of new functionality as they pertain to tax reporting events.

Requirements
Required Skills:


  • Extensive tax reporting experience (1098, 1099, 1042-S, and FATCA filings) and familiarity with all aspects of tax operations.
  • Knowledge of core banking, including core banking FIS applications.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, research and action all internal/external client/stakeholder queries related to tax reporting requirements, regulations, processes, and exceptions.
  • Working knowledge of the IRS Web site along with publications and forms associated with tax reporting.
  • Strong writing, mentoring, negotiation, communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Highly effective stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to multitask, take ownership of complex issues and meet tight deadlines. Ability to quickly identify an issue, escalate to senior management, and plan/take corrective action.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and set priorities and lead the team accordingly.
  • Ability to operate across all functional areas (Business Units, Corporate Tax, Legal, Technology, Project Management Office, Compliance, Audit and Risk).
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project.


Required Experience:


  • High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years' Tax Reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working within cross-functional teams utilizing a formalized methodology.


Preferred Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting and a minimum of 3years' experience in Banking Operations and Tax Reporting. Knowledge of IBS, 1099 PRO preferred.
