Position description

The successful candidate will contribute to the research activities of the Center for Population, Inequality, and Policy by providing specialized technical and analytical support under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). The successful candidate will have prior research experience with the University of California Consumer Credit Panel (UC-CCP) and will assist in cleaning, managing, and analyzing these data. This position provides an opportunity to assist and collaborate on a high-quality research project while building professional research expertise and skills. Position will be reporting to 001300 ASST PROF-AY.

Responsibilities

* Conduct specialized research and technical work to support an ongoing project using the University of California Consumer Credit Panel (UC-CCP), a large restricted-access panel dataset.

* Assist in the cleaning, managing, and analyzing of this restricted panel dataset.

* Maintain accurate and detailed records of research protocols and findings

* Contribute to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.

* Participate in research meetings, seminars, and professional development activities.

* Provide technical support and training to other research personnel as needed.

Required:

* Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience demonstrating expertise in a relevant social science field such as economics or sociology.

* At least two years of prior research experience using the University of California Consumer Credit Panel (UC-CCP) data in an academic or professional setting

* Demonstrated experience conducting statistical data analysis in the social sciences

* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
