Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Access Control in Erie, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help create a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you deliver outstanding customer service and communication. You will play a vital role in supporting hospital operations, including assisting with access control and responding promptly to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activities by conducting regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter areas.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences within the location.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with Allied Universal management and local contacts regarding incidents or concerns.
  • Support access control by assisting with the admittance of authorized individuals and monitoring visitor movement as required by location protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, patrols, and other assigned activities as directed by Allied Universal and location requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have experience in hospital settings including working in morgue environments and restraining individuals as needed.
  • Vaccinations as required by hospital policy are mandatory.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
