V3 Sports is a nonprofit located in vibrant North Minneapolis, focused on elevating our community through wellness, fitness, and education! Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Founded as a non-profit in 2007, the mission of V3 Sports mission is to elevate our community through wellness, fitness and education. In 2024, V3 Sports opened Phase One of the V3 Center, a 40,000 square foot health and wellness center that will grow to be a North Minneapolis community asset and a regional destination. The focus of Phase One is to provide a place for Northside residents of all ages to access water, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, physical rehabilitation and enjoy healthy and delicious food offerings. Phase Two, which V3 Sports is actively fundraising for, will be a regional destination for sporting events, career fairs, community events, and other drivers of economic stability. At the V3 Center, Northside young people and families will access programming that supports their career and economic aspirations and builds the skills they need to make their dreams reality.

Wages and Benefits

$60,000 - $70,000 annual salary range; Generous paid time off (PTO), plus 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance. There is employer-paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. V3 Sports sponsors a retirement plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting.

V3 Sports's Fitness Manager will lead and grow dynamic fitness programs, from group classes to personal training, while creating an inclusive, high-quality, and inspiring environment that reflects the organization's mission.

Responsibilities



  • Implement the vision and strategies that drive the success of V3 Sports fitness and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and launch new, timely, and innovative fitness and wellness offerings.
  • Assess and report on program performance, analyze data, and lead improvements to enhance operational efficiency, financial sustainability, staff development, and participant experience.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages participation and belonging for all members.
  • Oversee the administration of fitness programs, including registration, scheduling, attendance tracking, and session management using online platforms such as Mindbody and iClass Pro.
  • Partner with the Community Partnership Manager to identify and recruit external partners for fitness and wellness programs and events.
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures to effectively manage risk and ensure participant safety.
  • Identify equipment and facility needs and provide purchase recommendations to the Director of Facilities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate fitness instructors, personal trainers, and support staff.
  • Ensure all team members maintain current certifications and insurance (COIs) where applicable.
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities, including conferences and certifications, to support staff growth and engagement.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and establish clear, mission-aligned goals and expectations.
  • Lead with integrity by managing employee performance, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting team members in achieving professional excellence.
  • Oversee the full hiring process-from crafting job descriptions to forming selection committees-ensuring fairness, compliance, and a strong team fit.
  • Foster an ethical, inclusive, and supportive work environment with open communication and conflict resolution.
  • Manage resignations, terminations, and layoffs following established HR protocols.
  • Review and approve staff timecards, leave, and overtime requests accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative, engaging promotional content and branding for fitness offerings.
  • Maximize the use of digital platforms like Mindbody and iClass Pro to communicate with and engage members.
  • Work closely with the Membership and Aquatic Managers to plan and execute fitness and wellness events and activations.
  • Promote a culture of exceptional service and member satisfaction across all programs.


Who You Are



  • You have a degree or educational background in Kinesiology, Recreation Management, Sports, or a related field.
  • You bring at least 3 years of supervisory experience as a fitness professional in settings such as community centers, universities, or fitness facilities; 5 years of experience is preferred, with at least one professional reference.
  • You have a proven track record of managing organized fitness programs, leading teams, and handling administrative responsibilities with excellence.
  • You maintain current CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) certifications-or are willing to complete them during onboarding.
  • You hold or can obtain within your first 30 days of employment, a personal training or group fitness instructor certification from an NCCA-accredited organization such as ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, AFAA, or NETA (and will keep it current throughout employment).
  • You are able and willing to maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED, and BBP certifications. (For new hires, training will be provided during onboarding.)
  • Preferably, you hold a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
