Overview:

Egan is looking for a Production Engineer who will provide comprehensive production needs for systems and parts used in purchasing, fabrication, and installation of curtain wall/metal panel systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate production activities and ensure they are completed on schedule, within budget, and with a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Provide comprehensive production needs:

    • Examine extrusion and accessory takeoffs for curtain wall/storefront orders.

      • Perform stock length takeoffs to optimize material usage and maximize savings.
      • Perform accurate accessory takeoffs
      • Learn system specific components and offer solutions or alternative material usage to achieve better manufacturing and purchasing results


    • Sheet metal takeoffs for brake metal/panel orders.

      • Be able to perform stretch out calculations


    • Provide complete fabrication packages & instructions for aluminum systems, panels, brake metal, and other industry scope.
    • Systems support and connection parts and fastener packages.
    • Make minor adjustments to part drawings in AutoCAD/Inventor.
    • Utilize AutoCAD/Inventor to check part sizing and fabrication preps.
    • Create fabrication cutlists using FOM optimization software.
    • CNC Programming using FSTCAM
    • Create shop work orders
    • Create QC labels
    • Manage material tracking sheets
    • Shop QC observations as needed.


  • Drive efficiency and quality with project management and shop processes.
  • Achieve production goals, department goals, and goals established in annual employee performance review.
  • Manage material deficiencies form submissions and work with the shop and project management staff to provide answers on how to correct deficiencies.
  • Develop and foster relationships with project managers and other partners through effective communication and quality performance of work.
  • Initiate process improvements to benefit the performance of the project and team.
  • Champion Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions:

  • Performance of duties will mostly be in the office; visits to shop and job sites as needed.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements on job sites and in shop.
  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible, and reacts to these appropriately.


Qualifications:



  • Experience in project management or construction project support role.
  • Basic knowledge of curtain wall/metal panels; experience in the curtain wall/metal panel industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret specs, architectural drawings, and blue prints.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software.
  • Proficient in the use of Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing project needs.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.

  • Communication - maintains effective and open communications with all internal and external customers.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,00 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
