Job Description




As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol - Full Time in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned educational locations, helping to create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence on routine patrols and your visible engagement will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to individuals at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Document observations and incidents according to site protocols and Allied Universal standards.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, students, faculty, and/or staff while maintaining a visible presence to help promote a secure environment.
  • Assist with access control and monitor entry points as required by site-specific guidelines.
  • Support Allied Universal and client leadership by reporting security-related concerns, hazards, or unusual situations encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
