Job Summary:

Are you an experienced Sr Desktop Software Engineer looking to join an innovative team focused on creating innovative next generation medical devices affecting patient lives? If so, Masimo may be the place for you! We are looking for a Desktop Application Engineer to join our team at our Irvine, CA headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and build complex software systems for desktop platforms.
  • Lead the system design translating complex requirements into a robust and scalable technical solution.
  • Take ownership of complex technical projects with organizational impact.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, code review, and feedback.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on desktop applications development.
  • Strong programming experience (e.g., C++, Python, Java) and demonstrated design/architecture skills in complex systems.
  • Solid background in developing cross-platform applications and C++ and the Qt framework.
  • Solid understanding of system architecture: multi-tier applications, data pipelines, device connectivity, networking, concurrency, performance optimization.
  • Strong background in Python and SQL languages or similar, with experience working on large datasets.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA (Monday - Friday).

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server or PostgresSQL
  • Experience with network programming (TCP/UDP, REST, gRPC).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools or automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX environments, including shell scripting and build tools.


Compensation:

The anticipated range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
