Summary of the Job:

We're seeking a talented and passionate Junior UX Product Designer to join our team at First National Bank of Omaha. In this role, you'll collaborate with product managers, developers, and senior designers to create intuitive and engaging experiences for our digital banking products. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your design skills while contributing to meaningful financial technology solutions under the guidance of experienced designers.

About This Role:

Responsible for

  • Support the Design Process: Assist senior designers in various stages of the design process from user journeys to designing user interfaces. Translate complex financial concepts into simple, intuitive user experiences. Document design decisions and present work to stakeholders.
  • User Research: Support the UX research team in conducting user research and usability testing. Help collect and organize user feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Create basic wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts under supervision.
  • Visual Design: Develop UI elements and screen designs according to established brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to our design system and component library.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in design reviews, seek feedback on your work, and continuously improve your design skills and knowledge.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating fundamental design skills and process.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, etc.
  • Design Fundamentals: Understanding of basic user-centered design principles, usability concepts, and accessibility standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to approach design challenges methodically and contribute creative solutions.
  • Communication: Good communication skills with the ability to present your design work and rationale clearly. Ability to receive constructive feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Collaboration: Eagerness to work in a team environment and receptiveness to feedback and direction.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $62,047.00-$102,377.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Work Environment:

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
