POSITION SUMMARY:
The Child Life Specialist provides psychosocial and developmental assessments and support to infants, children, and their families. This role involves planning and facilitating emotionally enriching play experiences that promote coping with healthcare challenges and foster cognitive and emotional growth. The specialist enhances patient care through effective communication and documentation with the healthcare team, oversees child life volunteers, and mentors practicum and internship students. Additionally, they serve as an advocate and resource on child development, helping families navigate diagnoses and treatment.

COMPETENCIES:

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Child Life, or a related field, with a completed 600-hour Child Life internship.


Salary Range: Minimum 24.54/hour - Maximum 40.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
