- With minimal guidance of the Production Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies developmental and production mechanical, electronic, and fiber optic components, parts, equipment, and systems.
- Primary focus is in the areas of electronics, telemetry systems, etc.
- Reads work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and test methods for electrical, fiber optic, and mechanical components.
- Responsible for performing functions associated with rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
- Manufactures electrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses using several fixtures and necessary tooling as specified through controlled instructions.
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses using ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
- Recommend changes in procedures and specifications to improve the performance of production components.
- Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of the prototype or production model per test procedures.
- Responsible for following product test procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices as documented in the company's quality system manual.
- Works autonomously.
- Acts as a mentor to lower-level peers and guides tasks.
- Follow company procedures for corrective action.
- Notify the Production supervisor if a quality defect or safety concern is identified to obtain guidance and assistance in resolving the problem.
- Responsible for following procedures for product assembly and fabrication, equipment operation, and sound safety requirements as documented in the company's quality system while always maintaining operational targets.
- Promote cordial relationships and foster collaboration with co-workers, customers, suppliers, industry and professional associations, government agencies, and the local community to obtain optimal solutions.
- Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
- Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
- Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
- Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
- Entry-level support individual contributor.
- Explains facts and practices related to the job area.
- Works with close supervision on routine tasks.
- Detailed instructions are provided, and a close peer review is necessary.
- Communicates with contacts typically within the team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach an agreement.

- Follows established processes to complete tasks.
- Escalates issues to the supervisor for resolution.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Currently or previously IPC J-STD-001 solder certified.
- Ability to train others on procedures once you achieve Expert or Master Certification levels.
- Mechanical Assembly Skills: Proficiency in building complex mechanical assemblies (electrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses).
- Computer Skills: Adept at programming assemblies using relevant software.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret engineering work instructions, drawings, or schematics to effectively perform job duties.
- Communication Skills.
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude, openness to new ideas, and a willingness to learn new tools.
