- Works under minimal to self-direction under a Lead or Manager following engineering drawings & schematics to repair and modify electrical/avionic (Communications-Navigation, Instruments) Systems and Subsystems
- Performs operational checks, bench checks, troubleshoots, and isolates malfunctions in complex avionics equipment
- Tests avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers
- Troubleshooting of units to component level using Coordinate Measuring Machines, engineering schematics.
- Annotates maintenance actions in the record system
- Works with Engineering and other Technicians to troubleshoot avionics/ electronic malfunctions to resolve and provide information for corrective action(s)
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspections in accordance with manufacturer and Federal Aviation Administration-recommended and mandatory instructions
- Reads and interprets manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and other specifications
- Receives technical guidance, as needed, from the Manager or a higher-level technician.
- Will occasionally be needed to lead teams through more complex, relevant tasks
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned
- Ensure that appropriate levels of Quality and compliance are met for all assigned work in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Provides fabrication and technical support to peers as needed.
- Perform manufacturing and maintenance activities for the effective management of organizational goals and objectives, configuration and document controls, work package execution, standard metrics within the department, and product quality
- Interface with all departments to ensure cooperative effort

Required Skills:

- Associates Degree in Avionics/Electronics program
- Military experience
- OJT/Component-level repair
- Thorough knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, tools, and procedures within the commercial/ military aviation field.
- Working ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, and charts of assigned systems
- Working knowledge of avionics unique tools, such as test equipment, Data Memory Module, O-scopes, audio analyzers, frequency generators, Hunton
- Working knowledge of aircraft communications/ navigation and instrument systems
- Knowledge of advanced electronic principles and circuit analysis
- Advanced ability to trace signal flow, understand interrelationships of circuits, interpret waveforms, and voltages
- Excellent soldering and harness/ wiring skills, Printed Circuit board, surface mount, and crimping experience
- Advanced knowledge of all standard test equipment and maintenance procedures
- Advanced knowledge of technical publications
- Minimal to self-directed ability to perform individual assignments
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Must possess reliability, communication skills, workmanship, and good judgment
