  • Base Pay Range:$90,251 to $147,285 yearly, based on experience.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Assists the manager with interviewing, selecting, training, evaluations, and counseling all assigned staff.
  2. Instructs and advises staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards.
  3. Assists with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures that are consistent with University and MU Health Care policies and procedures.
  4. Assures that all departmental certifications, licensures, and accreditations are maintained on a continual basis.
  5. Represents and participates in appropriate MU Health Care committee activities.
  6. Provides insight and monitoring as assigned for revenue and expenditures during the year.
  7. Assists the manager with the development of workload standards and productivity reports.
  8. Monitors departmental operations and objectives to ensure the most effective services are being provided.
  9. Assists with monitoring of billing functions and departmental revenue status. Assists the manager with monitoring departmental goals, objectives, and programs to ensure timely completion. Assists with the development and management of quality assurance programs for the department.
  10. Collaborates with other departments to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  11. Confers with physicians and other department managers to resolve operational problems and promote communications and guest relations with patients and the public as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
  12. Assists the manager with Guest Relations and patient satisfaction duties as assigned.
  13. Assists the manager with equipment purchases and maintenance as assigned.
  14. Manages the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care for assigned areas.
  15. Monitors and oversees time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.
  16. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • One (1) year of managerial or supervisory experience, to include charge nursing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in Surgical Services nursing.
  • Master's degree in a business, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
