Responsibilities

The SVP, Syndications and Secondary Markets Manager is responsible for leading the Bank's syndicated loan and secondary market activities. This includes structuring, marketing, and distributing syndicated loans, managing relationships with institutional investors and secondary market participants, and driving strategic growth and fee income. The role collaborates across all regions and departments to promote syndication capabilities and ensure successful transaction execution. This individual will oversee the Bank's lead agent responsibilities and off-balance sheet lending activities, ensuring optimal pricing, credit evaluation, documentation, and customer relationship enhancement. The position also supports commercial service needs and contributes to the Bank's strategic positioning in the syndication market Lead the Bank's syndicated loan origination, distribution, and secondary market trading efforts.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with syndicate banks, institutional investors, and loan trading desks.
  • Oversee pricing strategy, credit evaluation, and documentation for syndicated transactions.
  • Monitor secondary market trends and provide strategic insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Promote syndication capabilities across the Bank's footprint through internal training and client engagement.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Credit teams to identify syndication opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.
  • Provide thought leadership on market developments and syndication best practices.
  • Support interest rate derivative transactions related to syndicated deals.
  • Represent the Bank at industry events and syndication forums.
  • Travel within the Bank footprint to manage and promote Capital Market activity.
  • Develop and manage the servicing portfolio for off-balance sheet activities, including growth planning.
  • Establish annual quantitative sales objectives aligned with the Commercial Banking Department's operating plan.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries within established timeframes and policies.
  • Monitor and review accounts for appropriate risk rating to avoid adverse changes.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Commercial Banking Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Commercial Banking Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 10 Years of experience in Commercial Finance including Syndications and Secondary Markets
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of syndicated loan structures, documentation, and distribution strategies.
  • Experience with secondary loan market platforms and trading protocols.
  • Strong relationship management skills with institutional investors, agent banks, and market participants.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex transactions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan syndication platforms (e.g., SyndTrak, DebtDomain).
  • Team building and leadership skills, including delegation, motivation, and education.
  • Creative thinking for developing competitive product and transaction solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and process development capabilities.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, lending policies, and loan risk factors.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong internal relationship-building across teams and business partners.
