Overview

Join Affiliated Oncologists as a Systems Analyst!

AO specializes in treating a variety of cancers including lymphoma lung, breast, prostate, gynecologic, colorectal and head and neck cancers. Our physicians and staff are multi-disciplinary team of highly experienced caregivers focused on helping patients and their families receive the best care and support possible.

SCOPE : Under general supervision, plans and evaluates commercial and custom software solutions for the organization. Works as part of a small planning and design team dedicated to careful and thorough analyses of software packages in use, or under consideration for use within the computer network. Uses knowledge of clinical and practice systems to analyze software solutions for electronic medical billing, pharmacy management systems, inventory management systems, medical laboratory systems and/or electronic medical records systems. Works with other teams on the deployment, installation, and maintenance of software programs and constantly reviews processes to suggest and implement improvements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Tests, evaluates, and finalizes specific software features and functions with a primary emphasis on ensuring that software meets functional requirements.

- Works with a design team to test and analyze specific hardware or software combinations under consideration for use.

- Determines best means to deploy and support products, on a project basis, as they move from the testing/evaluation phase to the deployment phase.

- Provides support to other staff and/or vendors involved in the deployment, installation, or repair of network hardware or software as projects move from design and planning to operational status.

- Provides technical support in the evaluation of new clinical software products including performance testing, reliability testing, deployment requirements, cost analysis, manpower requirements, and maintainability.

- Assists in ongoing and regular reviews of Help Desk logs, equipment failures, and schedule reviews to determine support needed for existing and new systems.

- Works as part of a planning and operations team to develop and maintain system standards.

- Evaluates products against standards as a means of benchmarking and improving products.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field

- Minimum three to five years experience in clinical business practices and procedures and the operation of multiple systems.

- Depending on area of assignment, additional experience in electronic medical records systems, pharmacy management systems, or inventory management systems preferred.

- General working knowledge of software used in a clinical setting. Familiarity with practice management systems, pharmacy management systems, electronic medical billing, medical laboratory systems, and/or electronic medical records systems.

- Working knowledge of information systems applied to clinical computing preferred.

- Crystal report writing experience preferred.

- Systems experience should include character and graphical interfaces, basic forms handling, and data base technologies including client/server technologies etc.

- General understanding of clinical back office and front office practices and procedures.

- Knowledge should include basic accounting skills, clinical practices, and general regulatory practices.

- Technical certifications in a mainstream network operating system, workstation operating system such as DOS, Unix, Windows 95/NT and/or client server software systems preferred.

Work is performed in an office environment with frequent interaction internally with corporate and field staff, and externally with outside vendors. Work may require possibly extensive travel by air or automobile.

ANNUAL PAY RANGE:

$73,000.00 - $108,000.00
