Title: Quality Improvement Abstractor

Duration: 4 Months

Location: Remote

Position Summary: Lead data collection and abstraction for company quality measures, including HEDIS, CMS, CHIPRA and/or any other custom measurements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assess vendor-delegated abstraction activities and compare results to HEDIS standards and/or custom or other measure set standards

* Review medical records and abstract data for HEDIS and other measure sets in compliance with standards

* Track and report on issues and outcomes related to abstractions and over-reads

* Communicate outcomes of abstraction and over-sight activities with health plans and vendors when required

* Perform other quality initiatives as necessary

* Will be required to complete training/testing on HEDIS measures (3 attempts).

Required score of 95% to pass

* Will perform independent review of medical records and abstract and overread based on HEDIS measure standards

* Critical thinking required to apply available resources and references to chart reviews

* Will attend meetings

Candidate Requirements
Education/Certification	Required: Associates of Science in Nursing (ADN)	Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure	Required: Texas LVN/RN license.	Preferred: Texas LVN/RN License
Years of experience required: Previous HEDIS abstraction/overread experience. Disqualifiers: Absence of an active nursing license. Additional qualities to look for: Independent worker, critical thinking skills, computer application proficiency. Previous experience with HEDIS, NCQA, Quality Initiatives/Standards. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Excel.

2	Ability to maintain productivity and accuracy goals.
3	Previous experience with HEDIS abstraction and overreading.
