Summary: The Salesforce Application Development Manager at Cencora will oversee the design, development, and delivery of Salesforce-based applications and solutions to meet business needs. This role leads a team of Salesforce developers and collaborates with business stakeholders to ensure the scalable, secure, and efficient operation of Salesforce applications. The manager is responsible for driving Salesforce innovation, optimizing the platform, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives. This role will have special focus on building foundational operational framework around the Salesforce Platform and Services operations, including Platform Security, Access Provisioning, Integration, Testing, Data & Compliance. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of Salesforce developers and administrators to deliver high-quality solutions. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Salesforce Application Development:
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Salesforce applications, including customizations, integrations, and third-party applications. Drive the adoption of Salesforce best practices, in the areas of Platform Security, Access Provisioning, Integration, Testing, Data & Compliance. Manage the development and maintenance of custom objects, workflows, validations, triggers, and other Salesforce configurations.
Project Delivery Management:
Manage Salesforce application development projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timely delivery. Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT leadership. Ensure adherence to Agile or other project management methodologies to drive efficiency and flexibility.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with business units, product owners, and IT leaders to gather requirements and translate them into Salesforce solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for Salesforce application development in assigned areas, ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders. Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
Platform Optimization and Innovation:
Drive the adoption of new Salesforce features, tools, and releases, including the AI features to maximize platform value. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve user experiences through Salesforce applications. Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of Salesforce solutions to meet current and future business needs.
Governance and Compliance:
Enforce governance frameworks for Salesforce development, including adherence to coding standards, security protocols, and change management processes. Ensure Salesforce applications comply with internal policies, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and industry standards. Maintain documentation for Salesforce architecture, customizations, and development processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor Salesforce application performance and user feedback to identify and implement improvements. Drive the automation of manual processes to reduce operational overhead and increase efficiency. Champion user adoption and provide training resources to ensure Salesforce solutions deliver value across the organization.
Vendor and Partner Management:
Collaborate with Salesforce partners, consultants, and vendors to ensure effective delivery of services and solutions. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party tools and applications for integration with Salesforce.
Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Salesforce Ecosystem (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform Developer, Mulesoft) are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of experience in application development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven experience managing application development teams and delivering enterprise-level solutions. Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations.
Technical Skills:
Good understanding of Salesforce development languages and tools (Apex, LWC, SOQL, etc.). Experience with integration tools such as MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, and other industry standard middleware platforms. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or financial services. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project management tools (e.g., Jira) and Service management tools (Service Now)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Timely delivery of Salesforce application development projects within scope and budget. Improvement in platform performance, scalability, and user satisfaction. Reduction in operational costs through process automation and optimization. High adoption rates of new Salesforce features and tools. Adherence to SLAs for resolving system issues and delivering enhancements.
Work Environment:
Hybrid or on-site environment, depending on company policy. Occasional travel may be required for team collaboration, training, or vendor management.
