Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Radiology Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) for a 12-month contract to hire role with our healthcare client in Rochester, MN.

This role will be 100% remote.


Compensation: $70.00 - $75.00 (W2) per hour, depending on skill and experience level.

Job Summary:
Join a highly collaborative Radiology Data & Analytics team driving the next generation of clinical data innovation. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to design and implement a Radiology data warehouse and analytics environment built on Microsoft Fabric, working closely with engineers, analysts, and cross-functional partners to support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. This is an impactful opportunity with strong visibility across IT, Radiology, and enterprise data teams.

What You Will Do

You'll play a senior-level role in shaping Radiology's modern data ecosystem:

  • Implement robust data pipelines using best practices for ETL/ELT, data management, and data governance.
  • Analyze and process complex data sources in a fast-paced environment.
  • Model data at scale, developing dimensional/star schemas and semantic models optimized for reporting and analytics.
  • Identify, design, and deliver process improvements, automating manual work and expanding the use of standard frameworks and methodologies.
  • Apply strong data quality principles to ensure reliability, consistency, and an excellent user experience.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to support cross-platform operations and broader analytics goals.
  • Prepare clear functional and technical documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Explore new features and technologies, evaluating releases and enhancements within Microsoft Fabric and related toolsets.
  • Mentor junior engineers, helping build internal Fabric and data engineering capability within Radiology.

Microsoft Fabric Environment

You will work directly within the enterprise Fabric ecosystem and interact with various institutional data domains, including:

  • Epic EHR
  • Financial/billing data
  • Imaging metadata
  • Broader institutional and clinical datasets

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

You'll be successful in this role if you bring strong senior-level depth in:

  • Microsoft Fabric: Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines (ETL/ELT), OneLake, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI integration.
  • Data Modeling: Dimensional/star schema design and semantic modeling for analytics use cases.
  • ETL/ELT Pipeline Development: Building parameterized, testable, and scalable pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and curating data.
  • Advanced SQL/T-SQL: Query tuning, performance optimization, indexing, and complex transformations.
  • Python (or similar scripting languages) for data wrangling, automation, and integration tasks.
  • Cloud Data Architecture aligned with institutional standards and security frameworks.
  • Metadata, lineage, and data governance methodologies.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD, including Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or equivalent tools.
  • Clinical, imaging, or research data experience within healthcare settings.
  • Deep understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and de-identification workflows.
  • Cross-functional collaboration, partnering with IT, analytics, clinicians, and technical teams.
  • Clear, effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to mentoring and knowledge sharing within a growing data organization.

Data engineering or cloud certifications (especially Microsoft Fabric) are preferred but not required.


Healthcare & Radiology Domain Expectations

Success in this role requires strong familiarity with healthcare data, terminology, and workflows, including:

  • Experience working with healthcare datasets.
  • Hands-on knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and de-identification processes.
  • Understanding of clinical and imaging data types commonly used in Radiology analytics.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Associate degree acceptable with significant, relevant hands-on experience.
  • Priority is placed on proven senior-level capability in data engineering.
