The Engineering Solutions Director role is a role within Coatings Services aimed at leading the engineering team to deliver profitable regional growth through project development and management, conceptual design, integration, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of coating lines for the automotive business unit. The position reports to the Business Director, Engineering Solutions, Global Coatings Services.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Develops creative or unique solutions that differentiate our value proposition. Manages overall engineering budget and costs. Develops and incorporates global partnerships for equipment/process design, manufacture, and integration. Responsible to ensure the CapEX and Design Review procedures are followed and complied with on all projects. Responsible for administration of cross-functional project team continuing education program in line with industry standards such as PMI. Owns cost targets: identifying and driving the implementation of relevant strategies to maximize product line profitability Deliver projects on time and in budget Accountable for overall prioritization and optimization of project activity and resourcing
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, in engineering or similar technical field A minimum of 10 years of technical experience, with leadership roles of increasing responsibility Willingness to work non-standard hours to support complex projects and relationships Project management leadership experience in a manufacturing environment of relevant scale and complexity Experience partnering with R&D, Manufacturing and Sales teams to deliver on customer needs/demands Experience in a manufacturing environment of relevant scale & complexity. Paint/chemical manufacturing experience is a plus
