Job Summary:

Oversees shift operations of all processes throughout Cast House, including shift change, coaching, teaching, and development of team members; reviews remelt processes and implements solutions; completes and monitors audit reports; ensures smooth, efficient, and effective safe processes and safe people during assigned shifts.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the aluminum casting, extrusion or related industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory experience in an industrial plant type setting.In depth knowledge of casting process, operation of equipment, aluminum alloys and
    standards, use of precision instruments and customer orders and specifications.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree majoring in Business, Engineering, Metallurgy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with supervisors, peers and
    subordinates.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to use various systems to track, understand, report and improve on all KPIs.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 and/or ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for the safety and development of employees.
  • Interviews prospective employees.
  • Maintains records for his/her shift concerning pounds/hr., efficiency, utilization and recovery rates.
  • Directs and coaches team members.
  • Develop, monitor, and improve remelt processes.
  • Helps to increase production rates and establish new procedures.
  • Monitors and implements housekeeping.
