Job Description

The Clinical Technician Sr. in Health Services performs a supporting role with a variety of medical and administrative tasks, providing healthcare functions and support services to assist advance practice clinicians and collaborating physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing office procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, urine collections, point of care tests, etc. using proper technique and Universal Precautions
  • Reviewing and updating patient charts in preparation for their provider visits. This includes taking heights, weights, and vital signs and documenting results appropriately, as well as taking brief medical histories and reviewing the purpose of the visit
  • Maintenance of clinical areas: Keeping exam rooms, health lab, and other clinical areas clean and stocked; this includes ordering supplies and immunizations when stock is low; ensuring that biohazard materials are disposed of properly
  • Data Entry/Computers: Utilizing practice EMR to access necessary clinical information, process lab orders, and to document patient care activities, outcomes, and test results. Utilizing practice EMR to access necessary demographic, insurance, scheduling, and other information, and to schedule appointments. Utilizing online systems for ordering of tests as necessary
  • Provider/Office assistance: Assist with exams and procedures. Assist with administrative/clerical duties as necessary and appropriate.
  • Student Outreach: create opportunities for outreach events to increase access and knowledge of health services. Attend and speak with student, faculty, staff at outreach events (i.e. orientation, first year experiences)

Shift

8am-5pm, M-F

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse. Graduate of accredited medical assistant or LPN program. Experience working in a primary care setting. Current CPR certification. Experience using an EMR for patient documentation.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20-$22 hourly
Grade: GGS-008
