Principal responsibilities



  • Interface with the production and QC Lab personnel over the release of orders to be shipped.
  • Ensure all orders are shipped on time and paperwork is accurate
  • Ensure all original work tickets, folders and bills of lading are brought up to the shipping office each day for manifesting/filing
  • Start-up and operate the He Leak Check, Valve Cleaning, and Cylinder Painting Systems.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for He Leak Check, Valve Cleaning, and Cylinder Painting Systems.
  • Complete Did Not Ship List (DNSL) each day. Provide daily hard copy to Shipping Manager
  • Keep an ample inventory on all forms, labels and office supplies as needed
  • Ensures all orders are shipped out on time and correctly
  • Complete the daily report of orders that did not ship and have the report ready for morning pick up by office personnel
  • Responsible for any and all Quality issues, as they pertain to the shipping dock and office
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Meet with the shipping manager daily to review what orders are expected to ship that day
  • Assists in the daily operation of the shipping dock.
  • Directs the preparation of all orders for shipment in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Coordinate all activities of shipping dock, valve preparation, & paint booth personnel.
  • Work with the shipping office personnel to ensure a continuous flow of orders down to the shipping dock.
  • Ensures all orders are shipped out on-time and correctly.
  • Serves as back up for Shipping Department Manager when unavailable.
  • Complete review check list upon completion of each order.
  • Ensure that all cylinders are painted, stencilled and tagged in a neat and orderly fashion (in accordance with DOT regulations).
  • Notify the Shipping Department Manager of inventory levels as necessary on all labels, paints, boxes and all other shipping accessories.
  • Aid in the performance of required monthly inventories.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, use required PPE
  • Perform other miscellaneous tasks related to the daily operation of the shipping dock as needed.
  • Remove all labels from cylinders before painting.
  • Paint cylinders and collars the required colours.
  • Complete daily work records for reports.
  • Aid in the mentoring and training of new and less experienced Shippers.

Basic Qualifications



  • High school diploma
  • Hazardous Materials certified- DOT, IATA, IMDG
  • 1-4 years of shipping experience
