Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Department: WCAS Molecular Biosciences Assistant Professor of Instruction in Biological Sciences Northwestern University's Department of Molecular Biosciences invites applications for a full time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Instruction, beginning as early as September 1, 2026. Duties include teaching six quarter-long undergraduate courses per academic year, or the equivalent in student advising, in the Biological Sciences major. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence, breadth, and innovation in teaching. The successful candidate will exhibit strong interest in education scholarship and sharing of best teaching practices. We seek candidates with experience and teaching interests in Biochemistry, but these may vary based on the expertise of the candidate. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Biology or a related field, which must be conferred by September 1, 2026. Applicants should submit (in PDF format): cover letter, curriculum vitae, and detailed teaching portfolio (including teaching interests and philosophy, sample syllabi, and teaching evaluations). Salary The expected base pay range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
