This position may be located in our San Jose or Monterey Bay Construction Offices.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing quantity take-offs and technical support to the Estimating team to ensure accurate construction estimates.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety before All Else."
  2. Review plans and specifications with the estimating team to determine specific take-off needs to ensure requirements are met.
  3. Generate quantity take-offs so that the estimating department produce accurate estimates.
  4. Research historical data and productivity analysis reports to compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
  5. Review take-off data/summaries with estimating team to ensure quantities accurately reflect project requirements.
  6. Maintain and back-up work product from the take-off process.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent related industry experience.
  • 0 - 2 years construction estimating support or similar industry experience.
  • Construction experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in all MS Office products (Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Materials quantity take-off skills utilizing AGTEK, and/or AutoCAD software
  • Capable of reading and understand engineering drawings to calculate quantities accurately
  • Ability to understand, analyze and summarize supplier and subcontract quotations.
  • Ability to work accurately while under time pressure
  • Must have valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record.
