Job Summary


This position reports to the County Board Chairperson interfaces with constituents, elected officials, and organizational leaders in a positive and professional manner. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Individual must display sound judgment in an energized environment. Ability to be highly responsive and empathic to members of the public. Assists with the administrative coordination of complex projects involving multiple departments and high-level officials.



Constituent Services Specialists serve as backup or are assigned support for the below job responsibilities



  • Lead Support Staff - Supports the daily functions of the Board and 18 Supervisory district offices, including coordination of translation services as necessary.
  • Coordinate Coverage of Board Front Desk - Schedule coverage of Board front desk, consistent with protocols that create positive and accessible engagement with the public. Front desk provides a first point of contact for constituent referrals to 18 Supervisory district offices and Milwaukee County departments.
  • Coordinate Board Intern Program - As Coordinator, recruit, train, and lead a team of qualified and engaged paid interns that support the Board and 18 Supervisory district offices. Manage and publish work schedules. Assign and monitor clear tasks.
  • Write and Process Board Day Citations - Support all 18 Supervisory district offices with their awareness and alignment to Board citation processes. On behalf of Board Chair, write citations for monthly recognitions, constituent achievements, retirements, and other milestones.
  • Coordinate Board Day Recognitions - Organize monthly Board Day activities for recognitions (e.g., Black History Month, Women's History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc.). Coordinate with 18 Supervisory district offices, Milwaukee County stakeholders, and community members to schedule speakers and coordinate recognitions.
  • Support Marketing Communications - Assist with identifying communication activities; develop county web and social media content and distribute district e-newsletters and email notifications of county events.
  • Administrative Support - Support the day-to-day administrative duties of the Office of the County Board Chairperson, including responding to inquiries, creating staff meeting agendas, and assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Monitor Emails and Answer Calls - Monitor incoming emails to the County Board Chair's office relative to job duties. Provide backup support for answering the district phone line and provide responsive service for any communication to Chair's office as needed.
  • Purchasing on Behalf of Department and 18 Supervisory District Offices - Assist with purchasing on behalf of the Board and 18 Supervisory district offices. P-card holder on behalf of the Board. Supports Board with purchase of travel requests on behalf of 18 Supervisory district offices and Board staff.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences



  • High School Diploma AND five (5) years or more of work experience in an administrative, clerical or customer service role OR a Bachelor's degree or higher required
  • Advanced knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams required
  • Must have a passion for public service and have the flexibility to be responsive as the job requires
  • Must be well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with CRM capabilities; great internet navigation skills along with developing and editing web content
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and have strong time management skills
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills



Preferred Experiences



  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish preferred
