Introduction The US Chief Data Office (CDO) provides business domains with data, analytics, and essential services to support advanced business analytics capabilities. The primary objective of this role is to develop and maintain ASML's enterprise and business process data foundation within the data virtualization platform (Denodo), thereby enabling trusted data access for ASML US teams. This position requires effective engagement with business clients and the implementation or enhancement of data integration flows utilizing Denodo, SQL, and Spotfire. Your assignment
- Contribute to the development and improvement of data integration objects in business critical platforms like Denodo and SQL.
- Contribute as a developer and tester for the Denodo's architecture upgrade to streamline data model implementation and reuse of enterprise data assets.
- Re-model, re-structure and re-develop intermediate and final views to improve reuse and reduce duplication.
- Create and model base views, derived views and consumption views as per the existing process.
- Play a key role in creating visibility that drives simplification and adoption of various data assets, as part of data governance program, which is critical to understand our enterprise data landscape.
- Participate in all phases of project life cycle starting from requirement gathering to testing to move to prod.
- Communicate the results both verbally and written.
- Assist in the documentation of data virtualization processes and best practices
- Actively participate in relevant Scrum and SAFe rituals and take part in continuous journey toward a more agile organization.
- Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship.
Your profile
- Graduate student majoring in Computer Science, Data Analytics or Information Systems with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Must be currently in school.
- Knowledge of database management systems and data visualization tools.
- Curiosity about data and a passion for finding answers hidden in data sets.
- Expertise with open source or commercial data integration tools (Denodo, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Informatica, etc.)
- Expertise with structured content and databases / repositories (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Expertise with agile and development pipeline including test automation frameworks (Jira, Jenkins, Cucumber, etc.)
- Familiar with data impact analysis, software development practices, and data architecture concepts
- Experience with Data Virtualization, Data Modeling, Data Management techniques and tools
Skills & Competencies
- Hands on experience with database management systems such as SQL
- Programming skills in Python, Java, or other relevant languages
- Denodo or other comparable data virtualization development skills is a Plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and eager to learn about data integration and virtualization technologies
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement
