Work Schedule:

Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift. Hours will typically fall Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Simulation Specialist to:

  • Serve as simulator operator by programming, testing and running simulation scenarios with faculty instructors, ensuring that the facility and equipment are set up for teaching events.
  • Serve in the role of Embedded Standardized Participant in simulation scenarios as appropriate.
  • Collaborate in event and scenario planning meetings to provide technical expertise on capabilities and limitations of equipment and facilities to meet course needs.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, simulationist's, simulation center staff, and other clients, to coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation-based education events for the Simulation Center.
  • Serve as primary contact with equipment manufacturers regarding equipment troubleshooting and systems problem; maintain record of repairs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Technology, Engineering, Communications or related field Required
Work Experience
  • 1 year working in Healthcare, Technology, Engineering, or Communications related field Required
  • 2 years experience in the related field. Preferred
  • Experience in patient simulation services, technologies and applications Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare and physiology Preferred
  • Experience in audio/video equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing and editing Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Simulation Certification from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (CHSOS, CHSE) Preferred
  • Laerdal Advanced Care and Maintenance Certifications Preferred
