Engineering Technician

Fort Atkinson, WI

ETI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support both ACH and ETI manufacturing operations. In this role, you will assist with customer RFQs, support the development and documentation of new assemblies, and initiate engineering changes to existing products. You will serve as a key link between engineering and production, helping ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

You will work closely with production leadership and production personnel to troubleshoot issues, refine labor standards, support workflow and capacity planning, and participate in process improvement initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience and direct collaboration with an experienced engineering team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review and respond to customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for both ACH and ETI products.



  • Assist in building, documenting, and introducing new assemblies, and support engineering changes to existing designs.



  • Support the design, build, and repair of test fixtures used with the Cable-Eye (Cami) continuity testing system.



  • Diagnose and resolve board assembly issues, performing component-level troubleshooting as needed.



  • Learn the product and provide technical support to the Lakewood team.



  • Work with production leadership to analyze and improve manufacturing processes, including reviewing labor standards, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and product flow.



  • Read and interpret customer drawings and electrical schematics to ensure accurate builds and documentation.



  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and transitions into production.



  • Maintain accurate technical and production records, including updates within the ERP system (ShopWorx or similar).



  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.




Skills and Qualifications


  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply customer drawings and specifications.



  • Proficient in understanding and working with electrical schematics.



  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.



  • Clear and effective communication and teamwork skills.



  • Solid mathematical and data analysis skills.



  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows and time/labor study principles.



  • Experience with ShopWorx or similar ERP/MRP systems; comfortable learning new software tools.



  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and Outlook.



  • Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or 3+ years of experience in electronics, wiring, harness assembly, or manufacturing.
