Pay: $17.00/hour + 2nd Shift Premium

Join the Johnson Controls team as a Pressure Tester at our San Antonio, TX plant. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals while developing essential skills in compressor and pressure testing of equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Load, pipe and align compressor and any other associated tasks necessary to ensure proper run-in of compressor.

  • Must be able to run all Test Stands and perform valve assembly of hand wheels unit assembly.

  • Record and/or collect pertinent compressor data according to specified test requirements.

  • Wash, clean and wire brush or scrape parts as necessary.

  • Work from oral or written instructions or tags to properly mask nameplates, serial plates, machine or mating area, control panels, etc.

Marginal Functions

  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as required.

  • Maintain and inventory equipment and storage.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Lifting 50 lbs. (occasionally), standing (constantly), walking (frequently), bending (frequently), climbing (frequently), crawling (occasionally), reaching (frequently), grasping (frequently), sitting (occasionally), connecting (frequently), pulling (frequently), reading prints (frequently), and exercising judgment (frequently).

  • Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Vision corrected to 20/20.

  • Handling equipment (frequently).

  • Must be able to read and perform high school level math or equivalent.

Environmental Factors

Manufacturing environment - Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), and cold/heat (outdoor). Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.

Tools and Equipment Used

Air handler, variable speed drives, hand operated power tools, cranes, forklift, pumps, three phase starter, air compressors, volt-ohm meters, leak detectors, power analyzers and vacuum gauges.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience with working with measurement tools / testing equipment preferred
