The Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute (HHRI) has an opportunity for an undergraduate Research Assistant, Jr to support the research being conducted by Drs. Rachel Nygaard and Derek Lumbard, MD at Hennepin Healthcare. We encourage candidates whose identities may be historically underrepresented in research, such as people of color, LGBTQ+, and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply. This is a part-time position to work 10-15 hours/week in downtown Minneapolis, MN with occasional weekend coverage required. POSITION SUMMARY: Manages and assists with volunteers. Collects and interprets study data in an organized and precise fashion to maintain data integrity. Provides study support and contributes to successful project execution. Responsible for protocol initiation, procedural adherence, and compliance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Education/Experience: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be completion of some college and six (6) months of research experience. Desired qualification is 1+ years in trauma surgery research. Skill, Knowledge & Ability (SKA): Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Interest in working with diverse and underserved populations. Demonstrate a working knowledge of basic computer applications. Experience with Redcap data entry a plus. Knowledge of research design, protocols, and analysis. Knowledge of regulatory aspects of clinical research. Ability to work independently, be self-directed and motivated. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Skilled in problem solving and keeping detailed records and files.
