Position Summary
The appointment as Associate Professor will have a primary role in the Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program and Physical Therapy Faculty Practice; teaching and mentoring students and overseeing patient care in the Medical Exercise Therapy (MET) Clinic.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach courses within the Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology program and the Healthy Living Practitioner Certificate.
  • Oversee students providing exercise interventions within the Medical Exercise Therapy Clinic and have regular meetings to review the updates on the program and patient progress.
  • Manage the Physical Therapy Faculty Practice's Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Stress Testing program's database. Analyze and disseminate findings through manuscripts and conference presentations.
  • Mentor students in the Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology program
  • Manage collaborative clinical and research projects.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations. Interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor, and evaluate staff to meet departmental and organizational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • PhD in Exercise Science or related field
    • Previous experience in development and delivery of exercise in patients with chronic diseases
    • Previous experience as an educator in the class, laboratory or clinical setting


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Record of scholarship (i.e., peer reviewed publications and/or extramural funding
