Position Summary:


Picking, packing, shipping and receiving tool, merchandise and parts orders for various types of distribution. Processing shipping picking and packing lists, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records. Adhere to work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. Follow procedures for handling tool and parts inventory.



Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Ability to perform receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of shipments.
  • Process stock & ship products according to standardized Logistical processes.
  • Perform loading and unloading operations within compliance of receiving and shipping specifications.
  • Perform various inventory related processes; inventory, cycle counts.
  • Operate various types of material handling equipment. Be forklift certified.
  • Participates in the "lean Production" initiatives of the Organization
  • Maintains various logs and/or reports for Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Process shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas as directed.
  • Ability to work with company software and computer systems.
  • Follow all safety rules/guidelines.
  • Report directly to Warehouse Supervisor in the Shipping/Receiving area.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include receiving in, picking, packing and shipping various types of Ames products, tools, merchandise and parts.



Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or more than 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Communication & Language Skills:



  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write routine documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all company levels.



Mathematical Skills:



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



Reasoning Ability:



  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
