Job Description
Work with our research engineers to develop adaptive wireless communications systems. Have you ever wanted to work in advanced wireless communications areas such as 5G, IoT, or Wi-Fi? As a student assistant, you will get to learn skills in these areas to propel your career forward. If you have a good handle on the basics of ECE and are good at learning new things, then you already have the basic knowledge to get started here. Your tasks will include: Assist in creating software and hardware for 5G, embedded systems, and servers. Programming and testing analog and digital electrical systems. Embedded software and sensor interfacing. Work on documentation, drawings, and designs. The Communications Systems and Spectrum Division (CSSD) within the Information and Communications Lab (ICL) is seeking an Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Assistant starting Fall 2025. CSSD researches and develops military-grade wireless communications systems. CSSD fuses multiple technologies including software-defined radios, FPGA, 5G circuit board design, 3D printing and UAVs to solve our customer's most challenging problems. Hours per Week 16-20 hours per week U.S. Citizenship Requirements Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens. Clearance Type Required Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance. Housing and Relocation Housing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
