Job Summary

The Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health invites applications for an experienced statistician to join the growing Biostatistics Scientific Collaboration Core (BSC) in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented and organized individual who will participate in all aspects of biostatistics collaboration including study design/grant proposals, data preparation with careful documentation, data analysis, and dissemination via participation in the development of manuscripts and presentations.

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Essential Functions



  • Develop study design and analysis sections for grant proposals in collaboration with grant PIs.
  • Lead, coordinate and implement various activities for data cleaning, data quality, variable creation and harmonization assessment for various data sources.
  • Compilation, harmonization and linkage of multiple datasets from various data sources.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data cleaning, linkage, storage, and analyses of study data.
  • Implement quantitative and qualitative analysis plans.
  • Aid in preparation of abstracts and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum of At least 5 years of experience in data analysis/data management activities across a variety of topic areas
  • Extensive knowledge of programming in SAS
  • Expert data compilation and data management skills
  • Expert statistical knowledge that includes longitudinal analyses
  • Extensive experience working with complex data linkages across multiple databases
  • Experience working complex databases such as disease registries, electronic health records, or other large databases.
  • Experience working with and coordinating large interdisciplinary teams of faculty, trainees, and other staff across multiple institutions
  • Experience supervising trainees and other analysts
  • Strong written and oral English communication
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Experience in large multisite NIH-funded collaborative studies
  • Experience working with confidential data and data protected under licensing or other restricted data use agreements


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with other software packages including R, ArcGIS
  • Experience with databases including REDCap

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade N. Compensation for this grade ranges from $90,430.00to $ 135,640 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
