Status: This is a full-time; hourly position

Hours: Monday - Thursday: 5:00am -3:30pm, Fridays: 5:00am - 9:00am; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: The Epoxy Applicator and Patcher is responsible for using epoxy to adhere stone and other materials together per production tickets, as well as patching stone as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Apply working knowledge of epoxy and bonding techniques to adhere various stones and materials together; includes, but not limited to, granite-to-granite, brass-to-granite, inlayed granite, Dutchmen patches, skate board deterrents, stainless steel and/or acrylic inlaid letters, etc.
  • Fill letters that have been sanded with epoxy.
  • Mix and apply carburundem strips following the appropriate steps; usually a multi-day process.
  • Remove stains from stone with correct chemical application.
  • Caulk stone joints as needed.
  • Patch stone by mixing glue and hardener with colored epoxy and stone dust to match stone color; grind and file patch as needed to match balance of the stone.
  • Build jigs as needed to support materials during the adhering and jointing process.
  • Maintain and manage project log to record hours required for completion; utilize information to assist the sales department with projected completion dates.
  • Pre-fit emblems and letters to ensure there will not be issues when they are assembled at a job site.



SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must obtain forklift certification (training and certification provided by Coldspring for all employees who may be required to operate a forklift).
  • Must have good color perception and not be color blind or deficient.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
  • Mechanically inclined and general math skills.
  • Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
  • Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
