Job Description

General Summary:

The Portfolio & Program Management Senior Manager is a global role within the Program and Portfolio Management (PPM) organization. The incumbent is responsible for delivering cross-functional project management excellence to programs across the drug development lifecycle (Research, Pre-clinical and Clinical Development, Registration and Commercialization). The incumbent is expected to apply project management best practices to solve complex problems and facilitate the execution of integrated project plans and deliverables for cross-functional drug development teams and portfolio operations initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee integrated project planning processes for one or more teams including scheduling, risk management, communication plans and reporting
  • Provide active meeting management by capturing minutes and tracking action items
  • Organize completion of project team deliverables and contribute to content development, as appropriate
  • Independently facilitate cross-functional team discussions and drive the team toward decisions
  • With support, partner with team lead(s) to set strategy, goals and milestones
  • With support, determine approach and stakeholders for cross-functional decision-making and issue resolution
  • Upon request, mentor junior PPM staff

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Conceptual knowledge of project management principles, best practices, tools, technology and methods
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Pharmaceutical drug discovery and development in-depth knowledge across one or more disciplines
  • Organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively interact with teams and stakeholders
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams

Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences or a relevant field
  • Typically requires 6 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience within the Life Sciences industry or similar

Pay Range:

$143,900 - $215,800

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
