We are seeking a Regulatory Engineer I to join our team and help ensure our customers receive top-tier technical assistance and service.

Position Overview

This role is primarily responsible for preparing accurate state and federal compliance reports for submission to regulatory agencies. You will also review and prepare other air-related regulatory documents, troubleshoot data issues, and ensure error-free reporting.

What You'll Do

As a Regulatory Engineer, you will:



  • Research, analyze, and document federal and state air emissions regulations affecting electric power generation and other large sources (e.g., 40 CFR Part 75, Part 60, Part 98, Good Neighbor Plan, CSAPR).
  • Work with clients on regulatory products and projects related to Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
  • Interface with clients, potential clients, and internal teams to provide guidance and support.
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and regulatory documents.
  • Create and update monitoring plans and QA/QC plans.
  • Stay current on regulations, requirements, and reporting methods.
  • Review Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) for CEMS and periodic QA checks for compliance.
  • Prepare permit and/or EDR reports and enter QA test and certification data.
  • Conduct trainings, webinars, and presentations for internal teams and customers.
  • Perform small DAS configuration changes as needed.
  • Assist with Title V permit reviews and related documentation when required.



What You'll Need



  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot air emissions software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable interacting frequently with customers.
  • Proven track record as a top performer and team player-humble, hungry, and people-smart.

In compliance with applicable Pay Transparency laws, Alliance Technical Group provides a range of compensation for job postings within locations that have these requirements. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The pay range for this role is $60,000-65,000.
