What You Will Do:

* Installs, diagnoses problems, and repairs residential and commercial appliances.

* Utilizes Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to distribute and route work orders to computers mounted in company vehicles.

* Provides technical advice, training and consultation to fellow employees.

* Responds to service calls at homes and businesses.

* Safely operates a company vehicle.

* Quotes pricing information to customers.

* Responds to odor and first responder emergency calls.

* Calibrates equipment.

* Designs piping systems.

* Sizes gas and vent pipe.

* Purges and restores natural gas lines.

* Builds meter manifolds and sets meters.

* Orders parts and handles warranties.

* Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required, annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered, safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained, knowledgeable, and qualified.

Who You Are:

Field Service Technician II - A minimum of 3 years gas operations or related field experience

* Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

* Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

* A minimum of 3 years gas operations or related field experience.

* Must have knowledge and skills with common hand and power tools.

* Ability to demonstrate strong, leadership knowledge and skills including the ability to effectively manage conflict and model the Company's values and Code of Conduct, share ideas and expertise to accomplish goals, maintain a sustained focus on work quality and safety, and foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration.

* Ability to effectively provide technical advice, training and consultation to fellow employees.

* Demonstrated ability to utilize ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.

* Ability to adhere to safe working and defensive driving procedures.

* Proficient computer and internet navigation skills are key.

* Ability to work overtime, as needed.

* Ability to serve as a natural gas emergency responder and on-call work (including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed).

* Strong knowledge of safety procedures and Red Tag conditions.

* A working knowledge of residential and commercial appliances and equipment.

* Effective communication skills for positive interactions with coworkers, customers, and local emergency response personnel are critical.

* A demonstrated ability to use and comprehend mathematical calculations and formulas.

* A willingness to work as a team member within a diverse team.

* Must be willing and able to meet a 45-minute emergency response time from the geographical center of the Henderson area. Emergency response time is a critical measure for the Company and candidates are required to consistently meet this requirement, including when on-call.

* Occasional heavy lifting up to 80 lbs. independently

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:

Prior experience leading or directing the work of others.

Advanced knowledge of safety and Red Tag procedures.

Bilingual (Spanish) candidates.

Other Working Conditions

* Work is performed in customer's premise, as well as, outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.)

* Position works around fumes, energized wires, dust/grease/oil, and in confined spaces.

* Position works in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces, basements, and attics, as well as, elevated areas such as roofs and utilize ladders, scaffolding and lifts.

* Position may encounter agitated/irate customers.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 80 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (up to 80 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.
