The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. As a core member of the production team, this position serves as the on-the-ground problem solver-supporting the production floor, tackling process and supplier challenges, and driving rapid, effective solutions.

In this role, you'll be a champion of defect prevention, using data analysis, root cause investigation, and disciplined corrective action to strengthen our processes end to end. You'll collaborate across functions-partnering with Contracts, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, DCMA, and commercial customers-to elevate product quality and eliminate barriers to execution.

This is a hands-on, high-impact position aligned with our production rhythm. You'll work Monday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., supporting the team's mission on the floor and stepping in with overtime when needed to keep operations moving.
Above all, you will help ensure we deliver exceptional products that meet customer expectations and advance our mission every single day.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and safety.

  • Represent Quality at weekly program meetings.

  • Ensure statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error when screening for non-conforming product.

  • Works with individual programs to monitor or analyze product assembly quality data and help correct quality issues.

  • Performs analysis on returned product and provides feedback to engineering to better improve the product / process.

  • Review and approve various documents such as EN-FN's, ECR/ECN's, and Quality Alerts.

  • Start the generation of NCMRs, working with Ultra Supplier Quality Engineers for corrective action when appropriate, and acts as a Material Review Board (MRB) member.

  • Ensure work instructions, processes, and products meet customer and AS9100 requirements

  • Develop new approaches to problem solving identified during quality assurance activities.

  • Serve as a quality assurance resource to Supervisor(s) and Manufacturing Engineers for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Performs sample selection and interfaces with customer quality representatives.

  • Performs in-process quality monitoring of factory assembly lines and engineering assembly labs.

  • Assists with compiling, writing and delivering training on quality standards and company processes.

  • Schedules and/or performs solder training for the factory associates.

  • Review Quality process data and work with cross-functional teams to drive root cause corrective action (RCCA).

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing quality related position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9100

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with tight quality standards

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization

  • DOD experience
