Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% outpatient

Patients: 100% Adult

Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our progressive Hematology/Oncology team in Macomb. This outpatient role is based at a clinic located one mile from Henry Ford Macomb Hospital and involves running independent clinics, providing cancer therapy education, and performing bone marrow biopsies. The practice is structured around dedicated provider teams to ensure continuity of care and strong support for both patients and staff.

The Macomb HEM/ONC team includes eight physicians and five APPs who collaborate closely with Detroit-based colleagues through tumor boards, grand rounds, and other educational opportunities. Candidates with at least one year of hematology/oncology experience are preferred; however, new graduates with relevant HEM/ONC exposure will also be considered.

Schedule - Full-Time, Days. 8a-5p. Shift may start at 730a, 8a, 830a depending on department need.

Weekend requirement - May start a rotation for infusion coverage on Saturdays in 2026. It would be 1 in 5 Saturdays.

Call requirement - No.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in any of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.

Qualifications:

* NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

* PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

* NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

* PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Licensure and Certification

* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)

* National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)

* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

* DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Department would work with provider to get certified after hiring as well.

Experience

* HEMOC experience preferred, at least 1 year

* If a new graduate, must have HEMOC experience/background.
