Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions to determine job specifications. Gather materials and perform layout work in preparation for welding and assembly. Set up and operate welding machines; adjust settings as needed for material type (e.g., steel, aluminum, copper). Weld parts together using appropriate welding techniques; inspect welds for quality and rework as needed. Assemble housing components such as wall panels using drills, torque wrenches, and other hand tools. Work with sheet metal to fabricate precise and durable assemblies. Operate cutting torches, manual plasma cutters, buffers, and grinders as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines at all times. Collaborate with coworkers to meet production goals and continuously improve processes.
YOU HAVE:
High school diploma or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years of experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly required. Experience with sheet metal, carpentry, or house framing is highly transferable. Welding certification is a plus. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience with sheet metal welding and fabrication. Basic understanding of blueprint reading and measuring tools. Ability to lift and handle materials safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and work ethic. Reliable and self-motivated with a team-first mindset.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $14.80 - $27.50 Per Hour
