WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Plant Engineer in Power Generation at our Weston Power Plant in Kronenwetter, Wisconsin.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, and Senior Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Plant Engineering role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient and reliable operation of power plant mechanical equipment and systems at the plant, including but not limited to pumps, fans, valves, piping, boilers, turbines, and conveyors.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with plant and corporate personnel to maintain a safe working environment in our facilities.
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and other Engineering personnel to maintain reliability of plant systems by monitoring equipment performance indicators.
  • Manage project budgets, focusing on controlling costs without adversely affecting safety or reliability.
  • Initiates projects to ensure long-term reliable operation of equipment. Develop project cost estimates, schedules, and plans. Monitor project status and update cost estimates as necessary.
  • Perform basic equipment testing, troubleshooting and data analysis. Leads Root Cause Analysis activities.
  • Properly apply codes, standards and regulations to relevant tasks, designs and projects. Updates drawings and other engineering documentation and maintains corporate records by filing in accordance with business unit guidelines.
  • Knowledgeable of design basis for system responsibilities. Understands and utilizes knowledge of interconnected systems to troubleshoot and improve performance.
  • Utilize performance monitoring/optimization tools, calculations, tests and engineering analysis to develop recommendations to maintain and improve plant, system and/or equipment performance, efficiency and reliability.
  • Ability to work well in teams and individually, depending on what circumstances dictate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • Power Plant or related mechanical systems experience

Pay Range Minimum: $66,898.00

Pay Range Maximum: $132,708.94

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
