Job Summary

The Vice President, Finance & Accounting is responsible for leading Masimo's global accounting organization, including Revenue Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Accounting functions. This executive provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.

The VP partners closely with senior leadership, including the CFO, to drive financial discipline, optimize global accounting processes, enhance financial systems, and support decision-making through accurate, transparent reporting and analysis. This role serves as a key liaison to internal and external auditors, ensuring strong governance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Lead all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and consolidations.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and corporate policy.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.) and develop internal policies to ensure compliance.
  • Direct the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related analysis for executive management and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee internal control framework and ensure SOX compliance, including ongoing process improvement and documentation of key controls.
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and business unit leaders to align accounting strategies with business goals.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing global accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Drive automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes.
  • Serve as the key liaison for external and internal auditors, managing audit preparation and execution.
  • Monitor and manage accounting-related risks; recommend and implement policies to mitigate exposure.
  • Provide thought leadership in financial process transformation and support global expansion initiatives, including acquisitions, integrations, and new entity setups.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with corporate governance standards.
  • Ensure the organization meets all statutory, tax, and financial reporting requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.


Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 7+ years in leadership roles overseeing multiple accounting functions.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks (SOX, COSO).
  • Proven success leading large, complex accounting organizations with a focus on process excellence and automation.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate accounting information into strategic insights for executive decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to influence across functions.
  • Strong project management and change leadership skills, with the ability to execute multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel and analytical tools.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • CPA required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred (Big Four background ideal).
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or manufacturing industry.
  • Track record of implementing system transformations and global process standardization.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
CPA required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $220,000 - $280,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other digital devices is required. Some travel may be necessary, including to Masimo's domestic and international locations.
